A program designed to help children navigate grief has officially arrived in Washington County, offering local
families a safe space to heal, connect and find support.

“It’s a grief support program for kids ages 3 to 18 who have experienced the death of a loved one,” The Sharing Place Washington County Director Heather Lundgren told St. George News. “And we don’t put a parameter on who that loved one is. For most of our kids, it’s a mom or dad or brother or sister, but it could be a special friend
or cousin.”

The organization has long served families in Utah, but its new location in downtown Santa Clara marks its first expansion into Southern Utah. As a nonprofit, The Sharing Place provides all its services to families at no cost.

Families are welcome to make a monthly pledge, starting at just $1, but Lundgren said many are unable to give due to the loss of one or both primary income earners.
