At The Sharing Place
When your spouse or partner has died, Valentine’s Day can be….awkward. You may not feel like joining in on the celebrations but an anti-Valentine’s Day gathering might not feel quite right either. You don’t have to be alone. Come as you are for painting, snacks, and honoring our loved ones with others who get it.
Activity and Discussion for adults.
Please bring a Valentine’s Card that you would make or buy for your sweetheart or that they might have given you. Write something thoughtful on the card and at the end of the night, we will exchange those kind messages with one another. Cards will be placed in a basket and you can choose one for yourself and read your special message.
When you arrive, we will have a painting activity available to help you connect with your loved one and share a little bit of them with the group. We will have a short, fun, and supportive discussion together, facilitated by one of our support group coordinators, before we close out the night.
Opportunity drawing tickets will also be available for a fabulous self-care package. All admission and ticket sales will benefit grief support groups at The Sharing Place for others who have experienced loss.
Activity for kids:
If you are looking for a night out, attend on your own. If you have children, you are welcome to bring them as well for a supervised activity in our playroom with Sharing Place volunteers. Admission for children is just $5 each. You can have the time you need while kids are well taken care of by our background-checked and childhood grief-trained volunteers.
OUR LOVED ONES ARE FOREVER A PART OF US. THEY HAVE CHANGED US FOREVER AND THEIR LOVE LIVES ON IN US. THIS VALENTINE’S DAY LET US AND OTHERS SUPPORT YOU.
JOIN US AND MEET OTHERS TO SHARE THE LOVE THAT ALWAYS AND WILL FOREVER BE THERE.
